The UC Natural Reserve System provides “classrooms without walls” for students of all ages. From elementary school field trips to college classes gaining research skills, reserves connect people with nature.
Interpretive signs, maps, field guides, phone apps, and other materials help visitors learn about reserve natural history. Undergraduates trained as naturalist guides assist visiting classes and researchers.
Field Studies Program scholarships offset student fees for field equipment and other course expenses, ensuring financial need will not pose a barrier to prospective students.
