You are here: / / Dutch company with restoration technology for tree planting
Sharing a message from Matt St.Clair, UCOP Director of Sustainability:
I met recently with a Dutch nature revitalization company that has developed a biodegradable technology that enables the planting of trees on arid and degraded lands. The Cocoon technology eliminates the need for any irrigation or ongoing maintenance expenditures. They are currently developing projects with the US Forest Service in Chilao State Park, Big Sur Land Trust and the Santa Monica Mountains Foundation.
I’m not sure whether any of the NRS sites are involved with restoration work that would find this product of interest, but I enjoyed talking with the company’s representatives and have copied Rebekah Braswell (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that you can contact her if you think there would be any interest. Here is a link to the their website http://www.landlifecompany.com and videos http://www.landlifecompany.com/latest-updates.html.
