Honor brilliant scientist, dedicated teacher, joyous free spirit, and founder of the NRS Kenneth S. Norris at the dedication of the UCSC Norris Center for Natural History. Ken’s son Dick Norris, professor of geosciences at UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of  Oceanography, will speak about his beloved father’s legacy. Register now.

Attend TEDxSantaCruz: Radical Collaborations, a series of 25 TED-style talks featuring Santa Cruz luminaries. Four are NRS-affiliated scientists and artists.  Barry Sinervo will describe using NRS reserves to study climate change impacts on California ecosystems; Dan Costa will discuss how seals outfitted with satellite tags are now collecting oceanography data; and eco-art pioneers Newton and Helen Mayer Harrison will describe using landscapes like that of the NRS’s Sagehen Creek Field Station to examine environmental stresses.
